Director of Crisis Core talks about FFVII remake

The director of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 and Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII, Hajime Tabata, spoke to the Playstation Official Magazine about the most wanted remake of the Final Fantasy titles.
The director stated that a remake isn't on the schedule, but it isn't confirmed as well. According to him, the team in charge of Final Fantasy VII is extremely busy and so the remake could be possible if a free time happens to show up.

"The possibility for a remake may become greater if, for instance, the schedules of the original members of the Final Fantasy VII development team, such as Kitase and Nomura, open up."

This means that we may have to wait until we get what we all want. Maybe after the Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XII teams finish their job on the Fabula Nova Cristallys project.
